Google CEO Sundar Pichai is an avid fan of the sport, and this is not the first time he has donned the commentator's hat for a game of cricket. For the T20 World Cup 2026 clash between India and South Africa at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Pichai is one of the esteemed guests in attendance.


 


He brought the coveted trophy to the field alongside the legendary Sunil Gavaskar before the start of the encounter. Later, he was seen commentating on the game alongside former India head coach Ravi Shastri. 


 


During his commentary stint, he not only spoke about the ongoing clash but also revealed his admiration for Gavaskar. He mentioned that he had posters of the former India captain on his walls. Pichai also added that he has been a fan of the sport from a very young age. Later, Shastri took to his official 'X' (Formerly Twitter) handle and explained his experience of commentating on the match with Pichai.

Miller’s 63 and Jansen’s Four-Wicket Haul Power South Africa to 76-Run Win Over India

 


South Africa put on a fantastic show, taking down India by 76 runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.


 


Batting first, the Proteas set a solid target of 187 for 7, with David Miller leading the charge, smashing 63 runs off just 35 balls and earning the Player of the Match title. Tristan Stubbs and Dewald Brevis also chipped in with crucial runs to boost the total. 


 


In response, India found themselves in trouble, getting bowled out for just 111 in 18.5 overs. South Africa’s bowlers were relentless from the get-go. Marco Jansen was particularly impressive, claiming 4 wickets for 22 runs and breaking vital partnerships. Keshav Maharaj and Corbin Bosch struck at key moments, while Aiden Markram dismissed Ishan Kishan early on. 


 


Shivam Dube put up a fight with 42 runs off 37 balls, and Suryakumar Yadav along with Hardik Pandya added a few runs, but wickets kept tumbling. India struggled to form any solid partnerships, allowing the Proteas to secure a comfortable 76-run victory, giving a boost to their campaign while leaving India in need of a strong comeback.
