Ahmedabad: Fans are furious after the crushing defeat at the hands of South Africa in the Super 8 match of the T20 World Cup. The hashtag 'Bring Back Sanju Samson' is trending on social media and people are demanding to bring Malayalam star Sanju Samson back in the playing eleven. The anger of the fans is especially directed at top order batsmen like Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Verma and Ishan Kishan, who failed miserably in this match.

South Africa had given a big target of 188 runs in the match. In reply, Team India had a very bad start and by 15 overs the team had lost 8 wickets for just 88 runs. Top order batsmen Ishan Kishan, Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Verma together could score only 16 runs. By the end of the powerplay, defending champions India were in trouble, losing 3 wickets for 31 runs. After being out on zero three times in a row, Abhishek Sharma scored 15 runs in this match, but Ishan Kishan (0) and Tilak Verma (1) returned to the pavilion as soon as they arrived.

After this poor performance, fans have started raising questions on the selection of the team management. People say that in such important matches, an experienced player like Sanju should get a chance instead of the top order which is continuously failing. Many fans believe that the management should seriously think about including Sanju in the playing eleven in the next Super 8 matches against Zimbabwe and West Indies.
