This historic innings with the bat of Sachin Tendulkar came during the home series against South Africa. Before this, Tendulkar had scored two consecutive centuries and was in excellent form. In that match, India lost the initial blow in the form of Virender Sehwag early, but Tendulkar took the responsibility and led the innings explosively. Even Dale Steyn’s pace and swing could not stop the Master Blaster that day.
Tendulkar hit 25 fours and 3 sixes in his unbeaten innings of 200 runs. He showed equal aggression against both fast bowlers and spinners. As soon as he raised the bat to complete his double century, the entire ground echoed with thunderous applause. This was not just an individual achievement, but a proud moment for Indian cricket.
