Conor McGregor claims to have been waiting more than two weeks for a contract from the UFC.

McGregor has not fought since he broke his leg in the first round of his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier almost five years ago. He is expected to return this summer, potentially on the UFC's White House card in June, and last week claimed to have verbally accepted a bout.

But the Irishman has now taken to social media and posted: "Day 15 of ‘I accept, send the contract'," suggesting he is yet to put pen to paper on the bout. His frustration comes after UFC CEO Dana White gave little away at a post-fight press conference last weekend, saying: “If it was done and he accepted, I would announce it.”

Earlier this year, McGregor claimed his contract with the UFC was void after they signed a new $7.7billion broadcast deal with Paramount+. "I’m going into negotiations with the Ultimate Fighting Championship in February," he said. "I’m very interested to go. They’ve actually got a new deal with Paramount, it’s worth $7.7 billion. So the company has 4xed its profit.

"And my contract, essentially, is void right now because there’s no more pay-per-view, whereas my contract was based on pay-per-view sales. I’m the highest-generating pay-per-view fighter of all time. The pay-per-view system is done, I’m due a new contract. So, we’re going into negotiations in February, and I’m very interested to see how it goes."

The UFC will host an event on Donald Trump's front lawn on June 14 to celebrate the president's 80th birthday and his country's 250th anniversary. White confirmed earlier this month that the fight card has been agreed but no bouts have been announced - although Ilia Topuria is expected to defend his lightweight title against Justin Gaethje.
