Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) It has been announced to provide free gas cylinders to the beneficiaries. With this initiative of the government, almost 1.75 crore Families will get direct benefits.

Who are eligible for this scheme? (Eligibility Criteria)

To avail the benefit of free gas cylinder, some important conditions have to be fulfilled:

Ujjwala Yojana Beneficiaries: This benefit will be available only to those families who are already registered under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.

Aadhaar Linking (e-KYC): Beneficiary’s bank account and LPG connection Link to Aadhaar It is mandatory to have. Additionally, the consumer e-KYC Must be complete.

Resident of UP: This special scheme is currently effective only for residents of Uttar Pradesh.

How to get benefit? (Process of Getting Free Cylinder)

This scheme works on rebate model. The process is something like this:

Book Cylinder: The beneficiary will have to first book the cylinder from his gas agency and pay the full price.

Subsidy Money: Within a few days of delivery of the cylinder, the Central Government subsidy and additional amount given by the State Government will be transferred directly to the beneficiary. In Bank Account (DBT) Will come back.

Two cylinders annually: The Uttar Pradesh government returns the amount of free cylinder twice a year (once on Holi and once on Diwali).
