Vogue Williams has opened up about something she “hates” as she addressed husband Spencer Matthews’ proposal. Former Made in Chelsea star Spencer popped the question to Vogue after a performance of The Lion King in London’s West End.

The 37-year-old’s proposal in January 2018 came just months after the pair began dating. Spencer met Vogue, 40, while the pair were filming for The Jump on Channel 4 the previous year.

Vogue initially thought the pair would be good friends, admitting she “didn’t fancy him”. The pair however now share three children together after tying the knot in June 2018 at Spencer’s family’s Glen Affric estate in Scotland.

During a conversation with close friend Joanne McNally on the My Therapist Ghosted Me podcast, Vogue admits she “hates” it when people approach stage stars after shows after Joanne recalled a moment the pair posed with the cast of Magic Mike.

Joanne said: “Sometimes, post shows you’re like, ‘I just want to sit in the dark’. My social battery is depleted.

“These lads, when I say, no shade, the last thing they wanted to do was stand on a stage with Vogue and I. It was so awkward.”

Vogue added: “I felt disgusting, I felt like a varrucca on someone’s foot. Someone get the nail file and get me off this foot.”

It prompted Vogue to recall Spencer’s marriage proposal. She continued: “I hate meeting people after a show because I just feel like I’m really invading their space.

“Like that time Spenny proposed to me in front of all those lions who are nearly dead. They were like Mufasa by the end, and me and Spenny show up like happy as Larry getting engaged. I was like, ‘Get me please Jesus Christ’.”

Joanne described the decision to get engaged at The Lion King as “such a wild choice”. Vogue said: “Spenny proposed to me at The Lion King at the stage show, he wanted to propose to me while they were on the stage but Disney had to explain that it’s a live performance people have paid for so you can’t interrupt it for your proposal.

“No shade to The Lion King, it’s not even in my top five Disney movies, but it’s Spenny’s favourite and that’s why it makes perfect sense.”

Vogue has previously admitted that she would have “swiped past” Spencer had she met him on a dating app.

She disclosed this during a previous instalment of Vogue and Amber, whilst addressing a listener struggling to find romance through online platforms. Vogue observed: "You're just judging someone completely on the way they look.

"And I always say this, Spencer is obviously gorgeous, but he wouldn't have been my type when we met. And I would have swiped past him on a dating app.

"And then we met, and we were mad about each other because we just loved each other's personalities. So, I think trying to meet somebody in real life, although it can be hard, can be a really amazing thing."
