A major fashion chain will soon open a new store in a UK city centre. Work is ongoing ahead of Lucy & Yak opening their new Sheffield shop. Lucy & Yak is a British clothing brand with 14 other physical stores and calls itself organic, sustainable and mostly gender-neutral.

The Cambridge Street storewill be pink with a few pops of yellow and will feature a mural from a local artist. Customers will be able to purchase a variety of styles and ranges from Lucy & Yak, including its signature colourful dungarees, jumpers and boilersuits in an inclusive range of sizes. The store will also stock the recently launched brand L&Y, which offers more muted tones. It is understood that the new store will open on March 21. Liz Green, store manager at Lucy & Yak Sheffield, said: "We're so excited to finally open the doors to our new Sheffield store - we appreciate everyone's patience as we work on making it perfect.

"Sheffield is our first shop to have its own Re:Yak Hub - a space where our community can drop in for customisation, mending and repairing (to name a few)."

A Lucy & Yak spokesperson said customers will be invited to repair, mend and customise their clothing through the Re:Yak Hub, including community events and workshops.

The brand hopes the Sheffield store will become a "vibrant meeting place, a creative home, and a living example of circular fashion done differently."

The spokesperson said their 15 stores reflect Lucy & Yak's ambition to "build a stronger physical presence across the UK, offering more opportunities for face-to-face connection with the Yak community".

Couple Lucy Greenwood and Christopher Renwick founded Lucy & Yak in July 2017 in Barnsley as a direct-to-consumer e-commerce brand. It opened its first physical store in Brighton in 2019.

Lucy & Yak has stores in Brighton, Bristol, Cambridge, Canterbury, Cardiff, Chester, Edinburgh, Exeter, Manchester, Norwich, Nottingham, Portsmouth, and Castleford.
