“Thank you sincerely for your patronage and support over the past 45 years,” the notice read.

The stall has been in operation since 1981 and is based at Balestier Market, located at 411 Balestier Road.

Before moving to its present premises, the business operated in Jalan Besar and subsequently at Lavender Food Square.

The stall serves carrot cake and popiah, a crepe-like wheat wrapper filled with stewed turnip, bean sprouts, tofu, eggs, and peanuts.

Patrons have praised the signature carrot cake for its crispiness, while the popiah has been commended for its sweetness and crunch. Some customers have even described it as one of the best carrot cakes in Singapore.

Over the years, the stall has garnered several rewards, including a “Certificate of Fine Culinary Skills” and recognition by “Singapore Best Foods” in 2017.
