Bengaluru: Actor Rashmika Mandanna and actor Vijay Deverakonda got married on February 26 at a luxury resort near Udaipur in Rajasthan.

The wedding was attended by close family members and a limited number of guests. Strict arrangements were reportedly made to ensure that photographs from the private ceremony were not leaked. The event was titled “The Wedding of Virosh.”

The couple had earlier shared screen space in the Telugu film Geetha Govindam, which was released in 2018. They later appeared together in Dear Comrade.

While the wedding ceremony was held in Udaipur, a reception has been planned in Hyderabad on March 4. Friends, film personalities and political leaders have been invited to attend the event. Since only a few guests were invited to the Udaipur ceremony, a larger gathering is expected at the Hyderabad reception.

There are also reports that a separate reception may be organised in Virajpet in Kodagu district, where Rashmika hails from. She has relatives in the region, and her family owns a wedding hall in Virajpet.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed his wishes to the couple. Vijay Deverakonda’s parents had reportedly sent an invitation to the Prime Minister. In his message, Modi congratulated the Deverakonda and Mandanna families and extended his blessings to the newlyweds.

Several members of the Kannada film industry have been invited to the reception. Among them are actors Shiva Rajkumar, Sudeep, Yash, Ravichandran, Dhruva Sarja and Ganesh. Producers and directors including Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar, Ashika Ranganath, A Harsha, Nanda Kishore and Simple Suni have also received invitations.
