If you’ve been waiting to see a “real” high-performance electric motorcycle on Indian roads, the wait is officially over. Chennai-based startup Raptee.HV has just kicked off large-scale deliveries of its flagship T30 electric motorcycle. While we’ve seen plenty of electric scooters lately, this bike is trying to do something fundamentally different.

The “Car DNA” in a Bike What makes the T30 stand out isn’t just its sharp, sporty look—it’s what’s under the hood (or the tank, in this case). This is India’s first electric motorcycle built on high-voltage architecture, similar to what you’d find in an electric car.

Why does that matter to you? It means you can roll up to any public car charging station and use a CCS2 connector. If you’re out and about, you can juice up from 20% to 80% in about 36 minutes. Even at home, a quick one-hour charge gives you enough range to get through most of your day.

Performance That Packs a Punch On the road, the T30 feels more like a 250cc-300cc petrol bike than a typical EV. It’s got a top speed of 135 km/h and can sprint from 0 to 60 in just 3.5 seconds. Whether you’re weaving through city traffic or hitting the highway, the 22kW motor provides that instant torque we’ve come to expect from electrics, but with a much more “planted” and stable feel.

Tech at Your Fingertips The bike features a 7-inch touchscreen that feels very intuitive. It’s got built-in navigation (Raptee Maps), Bluetooth for your phone, and “over-the-air” (OTA) updates meaning your bike can actually get better and gain new features while it’s parked in your garage.

The Reality Check: Price and Range Priced at ₹2.39 lakh (ex-showroom), it’s definitely an investment. For that price, you get a real-world range of about 150 km in “Comfort” mode (which drops if you’re heavy on the throttle in “Sprint” mode).

Raptee is also trying to solve the “trust” issue that often comes with new EV brands. They’re offering an industry-first 8-year battery warranty. Deliveries are starting in Chennai first, with Bangalore and other major cities next on the map.

If you’re someone who loves tech and wants to move away from petrol without feeling like you’re riding a toy, the T30 is definitely one to keep an eye on.
