The biggest challenge for women in every house is what to make for breakfast in the morning that everyone will like. Especially for children and husband’s tiffin. Often rotis, vegetables and parathas start becoming boring, due to which tiffin comes back. In such a situation, trying something new can be a good option. Oats is a food item which is very beneficial for health. You can make many types of recipes from oats, which children will also like.
Oats are rich in fiber, which keeps the stomach full for a long time and prevents overeating. Additionally, oats are easily digested and contain important nutrients like iron, protein and magnesium.
Children love cutlets and tikkis. You can make oats tikki. For this, take boiled and finely chopped vegetables like carrots, potatoes, peas or beans. Mix rolled oats in it, then add salt and light spices, give it the shape of a tikki and bake it on the pan. These tikkis can be kept in tiffin with paratha or bread.
You can also give oats paratha in children’s tiffin. To make this, mix oats in multigrain flour and grind it. Then knead plain dough. These parathas are soft and healthy, which can be kept in tiffin with dry vegetables or curd.
Oats Upma is a delicious and light breakfast, which can be made quickly. Vegetables like carrots, onions, capsicum and beans can be added to it. Adding curry leaves, mustard seeds and peanuts further enhances its taste.
Oats cheela is also a great option, which is easy to make. Grind oats and mix them with gram flour, then add coriander, onion and light spices to it and prepare the solution. Then roast the cheela on the pan. It can be kept in tiffin with green chutney.
If your children like idli, you can make idli from oats. For this, prepare a batter by mixing roasted oats with semolina. Then add a little tadka and steam the idli. This idli is very soft and easily digested.
