Detectorists has been voted as one of the best British comedies ever made for broadcasting via OTT and television, and is renowned for providing a more true-to-life (and laid back) depiction of both quiet pastoral living as well as the bonds that develop over many years through friendships and simple pleasures, such as discovering metals with the help of their finder, Larson. Many followers continue to express their desire to see more Detectorist episodes in Season 4; they’re hoping for more humour (in all of its forms), chatter and camaraderie from the members of the Danebury Metal detecting club and between Larson and Larson, which will occur after both long awaited and fulfilling stories that were told to end the 2022 Christmas special and conclude the season.

In various promotions for Small Prophets (approximately 2025), Crook has indicated there will notbe ae further series of Detectorists as it feels completed.
