The last Super-8 match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 between India and West Indies is going on at the Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata. In this knockout match, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav has taken a surprising catch. Surya gave a big success to Team India by taking the catch of Roston Chase in the 12th over of West Indies’ innings. Jasprit Bumrah had dismissed Shimron Hetmyer who was batting on the third ball of this over. Then he bowled the fifth ball slowly and trapped Roston Chase.

Chase, who was set after scoring 40 runs in 24 balls, had already played his shot and the ball hit his bat and bounced towards Kavir. Surya ran to his right and when he saw that the ball would go away, he jumped and made a stunning catch that stunned the spectators present at the Eden Gardens.

Abhishek had dropped the catch of chase

After losing the toss and coming to bat first, the West Indies team made a steady start. The opening pair of Shai Hope and Roston Chase added 28 runs in the first 4 overs. Bumrah, who came in the fifth over, trapped Chase on a slow ball but Abhishek Sharma took an easy catch towards cover. Chase was proving to be dangerous by taking advantage of this gift of life but ultimately Bumrah made him his victim.

West Indies gave a target of 196 runs

West Indies’ score became 103/3 due to Bumrah’s double wicket over. After this, Hardik Pandya caught Sharfan Rutherford (14) behind the wicket on the first ball of the 15th over and reduced the West Indies score to 119/4. It seemed that now India would take control of the match but Rovman Powell and Jason Holder stood still. Both of them made an unbeaten 76-run partnership in 35 balls for the fifth wicket, taking West Indies to 195 runs. Now India has to score 196 runs to reach the semi-finals.

Powell remained unbeaten on 34 runs in 19 balls, while Holder remained unbeaten on 37 runs in 22 balls. Bumrah was the most successful bowler from India. He took 2 wickets for 36 runs in 4 overs. Hardik Pandya and Varun Chakraborty also got one success each but both conceded 40-40 runs. Arshdeep Singh spent 43 runs in 4 overs.
