Prime Minister Narendra Modi held two important telephone conversations on Monday. He held separate talks with King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain and Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia.


The Prime Minister strongly condemned the recent attacks on both countries and said India opposes any form of violence. Expressing concern over these incidents, he stressed the need to maintain peace and stability in the region.


During the conversation, Prime Minister Modi also inquired about the security of the Indian community living in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. Both the leaders assured to take necessary steps for the safety of Indian citizens.


Earlier, late on Sunday night, PM Modi spoke over phone to United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and strongly condemned the recent attacks on the Gulf country. He also expressed India’s solidarity with the UAE in these difficult times.

He also expressed gratitude to the leadership there for taking care of the large Indian community living in UAE. PM Modi said, “Thanked them for taking care of the Indian community living in UAE. We support de-escalation, regional peace, security and stability.”


India and UAE have strong strategic and economic relations. The two countries have a close partnership on trade, energy, defence, counter-terrorism cooperation and issues to the diaspora. The UAE is home to one of the largest Indian expatriate communities in the world, strengthening people-to-people ties between the two countries.
