Why Walmart Spark Drivers Are Receiving Settlement Checks

Walmart has agreed to a $100 million settlement after a class action lawsuit brought by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and 11 states alleged the company misled drivers about base pay, incentive bonuses, and tips shown in the Spark driver app, as per a report. Walmart has denied wrongdoing but agreed to settle.

Who Qualifies for the Walmart Spark Driver Settlement

You may qualify if you worked as a Walmart Spark driver in the United States, the District of Columbia, or US territories and accepted one or more delivery or shopping offers through the Spark app between January 1, 2021, and February 26, 2026, as per The Sun report.

What Pay Discrepancies Make You Eligible

Drivers must show they were displayed base pay, tip, or incentive amounts in the app that were not paid as advertised. This includes:

  • Tips reduced or not paid as initially shown
  • Incentives promised but never received
  • Base pay or tips lowered after accepting an offer without a clear reason

How Much Money Could Eligible Drivers Receive

For example, if you were shown a $10 tip but only received $7, you could receive the $3 difference. If you were promised a $50 referral bonus that never arrived, you may be eligible for the full $50.

Do You Need to File a Claim for the Walmart Settlement

Drivers do not need to file a claim form. Walmart has reportedly already started sending payments directly to impacted drivers.
