The festival of Holi is full of happiness, enthusiasm and colors. On this festival, gulal, pichkari and shower of colors are seen everywhere. Be it children or adults, everyone gets drenched in colors on this day. But after the festival is over, a new problem often arises and that is the Holi colors applied on the walls of the house. It makes the walls so dirty that getting rid of it seems no less than a challenge. Doors and walls become colored, which looks quite bad. It is not possible to paint again so soon. Baking soda is a mild abrasive, which helps in removing stains. Make a paste by mixing 2 teaspoons of baking soda with some water. Apply it on the stained area and leave it for 5-10 minutes. Then clean it by rubbing it gently with a soft cloth or sponge.
White toothpaste can also help in removing color marks. Apply a little toothpaste on the stain. Rub lightly with a soft cloth or brush. Later wipe with a wet cloth.
Vinegar works as a natural cleaner. Mix 2–3 teaspoons of white vinegar in 1 cup of water. Spray the stain with a spray bottle. Wipe with a clean cloth after a few minutes.
This method is good for removing light colored stains. Mix some dishwash liquid in lukewarm water. Dip the sponge in it and clean the wall slowly.
Magic eraser sponges available in the market are also very effective in removing stains from walls. Just moisten it lightly and rub it gently on the stain.
