Passengers on a Qantas Airways flight have expressed their shock after spotting an A-list actor squeezing his 6ft 5in frame into a Premium Economy seat. The star even posed for photos and took the time to sign autographs once his identity had been rumbled.

Jacob Elordi rose to fame after starring in Netflix series, The Kissing Booth between 2018 and 2021. Now, however, fans will be more familiar with his lead role of Heathcliff - opposite Margot Robbie in the recently released Wuthering Heights.

Fellow Australian, Patricia Albassit is one person who was on board with Jacob - and she soon took to TikTok to detail their chance encounter. In a viral video, she exclaimed: "So just randomly met Jacob Elordi."

The first image saw her standing beside the star as they smiled for the camera, whilst her second snap revealed how Jacob had signed her copy of Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights novel.

"Dear Patricia!" his note began. "I hope the sun comes out for you today. Love Heathcliff."

Patricia's final shot saw Jacob sat across the aisle from her deep in concentration with a pen in his hand. She said: "Not Jacob Elordi just casually reading a script across from me."

It prompted one TikTok to sceptically question in response: "You had Wuthering Heights on you for this?" To which Patricia clarified: "No, he went into the shop and asked to give him two minutes, came back and bought it and signed it. Sweetest human."

A second person added: "Omg my mum was sitting next to him!" Patricia gushed: "Sweetest mum you have. We were both dying! And literally we were walking out with him off the plane and he was talking to us like his friends!"

A third asked Patricia: "But is the sentence he wrote to you as a dedication taken from the movie Wuthering Heights or is it his own idea?" She clarified: "Probably just his own because i was having a s*** day haha."

And in reply to a fourth TikTok user who found it sweet Jacob was travelling in economy, Patricia wrote: "I made a joke to him and said hey like WTF why aren't you on a private jet? And he laughed and said i know right."

Directed by Saltburn's Emerald Fennell, the Wuthering Heights film's story is loosely based on English author Bronte's only novel which was released in 1847.

The tragic story about the intense, destructive love between Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff, was set on the bleak Yorkshire moors and focuses on their intertwined lives.

The book is driven by themes of love, possession and revenge, considered a classic of English literature. As of March 4, 2026, Wuthering Heights has grossed $74 million (£55 million) in the United States and Canada and $126 million (£94 million) in other territories.
