Sarah Ferguson once had a ridiculous demand for a butler while on holiday, it has been claimed. The former Duchess of York, who has kept a low profile over recent months as a result of scandals, has always been known for being an overspender.

This is believed to have especially been the case in the past when she faced any form of crisis, with royal historian Andrew Lownie revealing in his book Entitled: The Rise And Fall Of The House Of York that her reaction to a crisis had always been to go on holiday.

However, not only did Sarah tend to go on holiday when the going got tough, but she also spent lavishly on these holidays.

As well as taking more luggage than necessary, which came at a hefty price tag, Sarah also reportedly had a ridiculous demand for a butler on holiday.

This demand saw the holiday butler having to get up at 4.30am.

Lownie said that Sarah reportedly ordered that a breakfast table be set up at three different spots each morning so she could choose, while a butler had to get in at 4.30am to put watercress on ice.

Lownie also said she would miss refundable flights without seeming to have a care in the world.

One source told Lownie: "She thought nothing of arriving at an airport with 25 cases and paying between £800 and £4,000 in excess baggage.

"At least five of those cases were packed with toiletries and make-up. Another one would be used solely for clothes hangers."

Sarah is believed to have spent time overseas recently after her and her ex husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor appeared in the Epstein files in emails which showed how close they were to the late paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Appearing in the Epstein files does not indicate any wrongdoing.
