Resident Evil Requiem is filled with puzzles, locked doors, and mysterious items that block your progress until you discover the correct solution. One of the early obstacles that confuses many players is the Parlor Door. When you first encounter it, the door appears sealed with a strange indentation, and the game gives you very little explanation about how to open it.

Where Is The Parlor Door Located

The Parlor Door is located on the first floor of the West Wing corridor inside the Care Center area. As you explore the building, you will eventually notice a door with a distinct indentation shaped for a jewel.

At first glance, it might seem like a normal locked door, but it cannot be opened with a key or lockpick. The door requires a special item that fits into the indentation.

This puzzle is part of the main story progression, so opening the Parlor Door is necessary to continue deeper into the facility.

Item Needed To Open The Parlor Door

To unlock the Parlor Door, you need a specific item:

This jewel acts like a key for the Parlor Door. Once you insert it into the indentation on the door, it will unlock immediately and allow you to enter the Parlor.

However, the game does not give you the jewel directly. You must explore another room and inspect an object carefully to obtain it.

How To Find The Red Jewel

The Red Jewel is hidden inside a small container located in the Chairman’s Office on the second floor. Reaching this room requires some exploration, but it is fairly straightforward if you follow the correct path.

Follow these steps to obtain the jewel:

  1. Head to the second floor of the Care Center.

  2. Navigate through the Bar and Lounge area while avoiding enemies.

  3. Continue down the corridor until you reach the Chairman’s Office.

  4. Once inside the office, look to the left side of the room.

  5. On the counter, you will find a small item called the Unicorn Trinket Box.

Pick up this box and open your inventory.

Now comes an important step that many players miss. You must inspect the box to reveal its secret.

Rotate the object in your inventory until the interaction prompt appears. When you open the box, you will discover the Red Jewel hidden inside.

Take the jewel and prepare to return to the locked door.

Opening The Parlor Door

After obtaining the Red Jewel, you need to backtrack to the Parlor Door.

Return to the first floor corridor in the West Wing where you originally found the locked door. When you interact with it, the game will automatically use the Red Jewel.

The process is quick:

Once the jewel is placed into the slot, the door will unlock and swing open, giving you access to the Parlor.

Be careful while returning, because enemies may patrol the hallways during this section.

What You Can Find Inside The Parlor

Opening the Parlor is worth the effort because the room contains several useful rewards and story items.

Inside the Parlor, you can find:

The room functions almost like a reward hub where you can spend coins to unlock powerful upgrades.

Some of the upgrades available in the Parlor include:

  • Hip Pouch – increases your inventory capacity

  • Stabilizer – improves weapon handling

  • Health upgrades that increase survivability

  • Special tools that help with later puzzles

These upgrades can make the rest of the game much easier, especially on higher difficulty levels.

Important Story Item In The Parlor

Another major reason to open the Parlor is the East Wing Keycardwhich is needed to progress further into the facility.

You will find this keycard by searching the room carefully. In one corner of the Parlor, you will discover a disturbing sight: a severed arm holding the keycard.

Interact with it to obtain the item.

The East Wing Keycard unlocks several secure areas in the next section of the game, making it a critical item for continuing the story.

Tips Before Entering The Parlor

Before opening the Parlor Door, it helps to keep a few gameplay tips in mind:

  • Clear nearby enemies first so they do not attack while you unlock the door.

  • Keep at least one inventory slot free for new items.

  • Search the entire room carefullysince valuable items are easy to miss.

  • Collect Antique Coins earlyas they can be exchanged for upgrades in the Parlor.

Taking your time to explore this room fully can give you a major advantage for the upcoming sections of the game.
