  • 1 cup mawa (khoya)

  • 2 tbsp flour

  • 2 tbsp semolina

  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda

  • 2 cups sugar

  • 2 cups water

  • 4-5 cardamom (powder)

  • Ghee or oil for frying

  • 1 teaspoon rose water

  • Pistachios or almond pieces for garnishing


How to make Gulab Jamun


The flavourful sweet dish Gulab Jamun is very much liked. To prepare these, first put sugar and water in a pan or pan and heat it on medium flame. When the sugar dissolves well, add cardamom powder to it.


Cook the syrup for about 5-7 minutes so that it becomes slightly sticky. After this, turn off the gas and add some rose water to it. Let the syrup remain slightly warm, because the gulab jamuns will be added in it.


Put mawa in a bowl and mash it well so that there are no lumps in it. Now add flour, semolina and baking soda and mix well. If needed, add a little milk and knead a soft dough.


Keep in mind that the dough should not be too hard or too loose. Now make small smooth balls from this dough. While making the balls, keep in mind that there should not be any cracks in them, because due to cracks, the Gulab Jamuns may break while frying.


Now heat ghee or oil in a pan on medium flame. The oil should not be too strong. Now slowly put the prepared balls in oil and fry on low flame.


Keep turning the gulab jamuns gently so that they become evenly golden brown from all sides. When they are fried well, take them out of the oil and put them directly into the hot syrup.


Let the fried gulab jamuns soak in the syrup for at least 2 hours. Due to this they absorb the syrup deep inside and become very soft and juicy.


Before serving, add chopped pistachios or almonds on top. Serve hot or lukewarm Gulab Jamun on the occasion of Rangpanchami, it will win everyone’s heart.
