When is the second Pradosh fast of March?

According to the Panchang, the second Pradosh Vrat in March 2026 is falling on Monday, March 16. Trayodashi Tithi will start on 16th at 9.41 am. It will end on March 17 at 9:24 am. In such a situation, the fast will be observed on March 16 only. Since Trayodashi fast is observed on Monday, it will be called Som Pradosh fast.

Importance of Pradosh Vrat

Trayodashi date is considered very fruitful from spiritual point of view. On this day, there is a tradition to worship Shiva during Pradosh period. • Clean the home temple and install the idol of Lord Shiva-Parvati.


• During Pradosh period, worship Mahadev duly by offering Belpatra, Dhatura, hemp, white flowers and raw cow’s milk.


• ‘Om Namah Shivay’ chanting, Shiv Chalisa And recite Pradosh Vrat Katha.


• In the end, perform aarti with a ghee lamp and apologize for any unintentional mistake.
