Shade Houseplants: Houseplants are designed to suit your busy life as they do not require much maintenance. They can thrive in low sunlight and do not require regular pruning or watering. You can decorate almost any corner of the house with low light and no light indoor plants. But do you know that certain house plants should never be kept in direct sunlight. peace lily

Peace lilies are great houseplants that don’t need sun and also purify the air. However peace lilies require regular watering. They thrive in bright light but it is best not to expose them to direct sunlight as its delicate leaves get scorched easily.

snake plant

This plant looks like a snake, hence its name is snake plant. But do you know that NASA had also described this plant as a very good air purifier. This plant does not need much sunlight and less water is also given to it. This plant is robust and versatile but should not be kept in direct sunlight for too long. Keeping it in strong sunlight will cause the color of its leaves to fade.

pothos

Pothos, also known as Devil’s Ivy, is very hardy. It is like a beautiful vine which can be planted in the drawing room, window or stairs of the house. Its vine becomes very long and spreads far. Its vines should not be kept in full sunlight for too long. Its leaves are soft and delicate and when exposed to direct, strong sunlight they either get scorched or start turning yellow.

Spider plants are also wonderful houseplants that grow without any trouble, especially in bright light. But since their leaves are also delicate, keeping them in direct sunlight causes their leaves to turn brown. Keep it away from direct light and water it regularly so that it does not look bad and unkempt. It can be planted as a hanging plant. boston fern

Most fern house plants have delicate, small leaves that dry out very quickly. When the Boston fern is placed in direct sunlight instead of shade, it dries out too quickly, the leaves get damaged and the green leaves turn yellow too quickly. It removes the polluted environment inside the house. This plant needs a lot of water, so keep it in the balcony outside the bedroom.

philodendron plant

This indoor plant looks as if designer cutting has been done on its leaves. If your house is dark and sunlight does not come then this plant is perfect for your house. This is because this plant does not need sunlight at all. But keeping them in direct sunlight for a long time can darken the color of the leaves, causing yellow or black spots.
