After leading India to victory at the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup, Suryakumar Yadav has set his sights on the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.
The Indian captain announced that winning an Olympic gold medal is now the team's next goal.
"The next goal is the Olympics. Olympic gold and also the T20 World Cup that year. Don't forget," Suryakumar said at a crowded post-match media conference

The Olympic Games are scheduled to take place in Los Angeles in August 2028.
The next T20 World Cup will be held later that year in Australia and New Zealand.

Suryakumar spoke about his journey over the last month and how he is yet to fully grasp the feeling of winning India's third T20 World Cup title.
He said, "It'll take a little bit of time to sink in. We have just come out of a game. It was a good game."
The Indian captain also recalled their campaign's initial struggles but said they gained momentum after their match against Zimbabwe.

He said he started focusing on the home World Cup after becoming captain.
"That catch changed my life completely. Because that was a moment of the tournament," he said, adding that leading this amazing team was a very special feeling as they were going to play the World Cup in India after two years.

Suryakumar emphasized that India will continue to play an aggressive brand of cricket.
Everything was changed post 2024. We played a different brand of cricket in 2024 and from there we understood how this team needs to work forward, he said.
