Overview: The Punjab Subordinate Services Selection Board (Punjab SSSB) has announced job openings for the Senior Assistant role in 2026. Candidates with a bachelor's degree are invited to apply. The online application window will open on March 7, 2026, and will close on March 28, 2026. Interested individuals can submit their applications via the official Punjab SSSB website.
Educational Qualification: Applicants must possess a bachelor's degree from a recognized institution.
Computer Skills: A minimum of 120 hours of computer training with practical experience in IT is required, or candidates should hold an 'O' Level Certificate from the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (formerly DOEACC).
Typing Proficiency: Candidates must successfully complete a computer-based typing test administered by the Board, achieving a minimum speed of 30 words per minute in both English and Punjabi.
Language Requirement: As per Punjab Civil Services Rules, candidates must have passed the Matriculation examination with Punjabi as a subject or an equivalent examination in Punjabi.
The upper age limit for general category applicants is set at 37 years. Candidates from SC/ST/BC categories in Punjab may receive age relaxation, allowing a maximum age of 42 years. Additionally, state or central government employees can apply up to 45 years of age.
Fees: The application fee is ₹500 for ex-servicemen, EWS, PWD, and LDESM (Punjab candidates only). Candidates from Scheduled Castes (SC) and Backward Classes (BC) in Punjab will pay ₹750, while all other applicants must pay ₹1,500.
Written Examination: Candidates will first take a written objective test featuring multiple-choice questions. The merit list will be based on scores from this exam, with negative marking of 0.25 points for incorrect answers.
Typing Test: Those who pass the written exam will undergo a typing test, requiring a speed of 30 words per minute in English and Punjabi (using Unicode-compliant font Ravi). This test is qualifying only.
Document Verification: Candidates who make it to the merit list will be called for document verification, where all necessary certificates will be checked.
Selected candidates will be appointed as Senior Assistants, earning a salary under the Level-6 pay scale, starting at approximately ₹35,400 per month. Additional allowances may apply as per government regulations, potentially increasing the total compensation.

Complete the registration process by providing your email address and other required details. Your email will serve as your user ID.
Log in using your user ID and password, then click "Apply for Service." Fill in your personal, educational, and other necessary information in the online application form.
Upload your passport-sized photo, signature, and any required documents.
After filling out all information, pay the application fee online.
Once the payment is successful, click the "Submit" button to finalize your application.
Lastly, print the application form for your records.
