Rajasthan Royals (RR) recently shared an exciting video, welcoming back Ravindra Jadeja into their squad as they gear up for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season.
Jadeja, the star all-rounder, made quite the impression with his remarkable performances for the Royals during Shane Warne's captaincy. He was a key player in the Royals' historic victory in the inaugural IPL season back in 2008. Now, 18 years later, he’s eager to help the Rajasthan franchise break their title drought.

In a significant trade with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Jadeja is returning to the Rajasthan Royals for the IPL 2026 season. The Men in Yellow acquired Sanju Samson from the Royals in exchange for Jadeja and England all-rounder Sam Curran. Jadeja was traded for INR 14 crore, taking a pay cut from his previous INR 18 crore salary at CSK.

Last season was tough for the Royals, as they struggled through a disappointing campaign. Out of 14 matches, they managed only four wins and suffered 10 defeats, finishing ninth on the points table, just above CSK.
How well has Ravindra Jadeja done in the IPL?
Jadeja stepped away from T20I cricket after playing a crucial role in India's victory at the 2024 T20 World Cup. However, he continues to shine in the IPL. Over his career in the lucrative league, he has played 254 matches, scoring 3,260 runs with an average of 27.86 and a strike rate of 130.25. With the ball, he has taken 170 wickets at an average of 30.52 and an economy rate of 7.67.
In the previous season, Jadeja scored 301 runs at an average of 33.44 and a strike rate of 135.59. With his bowling, he claimed 10 wickets at an average of 32.40 and an economy rate of 8.56.
