The Supreme Court has ordered the Central Government to form a Domain Expert Committee in the NCERT book controversy case. The committee will be comprised of a former judge, an academic, and a prominent legal expert. The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court stated, "If the judiciary, like any other institution, has shortcomings, and if such shortcomings are pointed out, it will help future judges and lawyers and assist the parties currently involved in taking corrective steps." The Chief Justice further stated, "An expert committee of domain experts should be formed within a week, and the National Judicial Academy, Bhopal, should also be consulted to prepare material on legal studies."

"If they want a modification of the order, they can approach the court."

The Supreme Court has ordered the Center and NCERT to remove Professor Michel Danino, teacher Suparna Diwakar, and legal researcher Alok Prasanna Kumar from any role in preparing the school curriculum following their role in the controversial Class 8 textbook chapter. A bench headed by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant said they can approach the court if they want a modification of the order.

"As CJI, I am not going to spare such people."

The Supreme Court also asked the Center to identify and take action against social media and digital platforms that defame the judiciary on this issue. Regarding those making derogatory comments about the judiciary on social media, the Supreme Court said, "It is necessary to teach such people a lesson. As CJI, I am not going to spare such people. It remains to be seen whether those defaming the judiciary have apologized unconditionally."
