Customers at one of the UK's largest supermarkets can get free flowers for Mother's Day this year. Mother's Day falls on Sunday, March 15, and many Britons are busy picking up things like chocolates, candles and, of course, flowers for their mums. Those looking to gift their mother some lovely daffodils this weekend should head to their local Asda store, as it is giving them away for free.

The retailer is rewarding hard-working mums this Mother's Day, as a spokesperson explains that mums are often busy thinking about others before themselves. To get a free bunch of daffodils, customers just need to complete one simple task when they visit their local Asda store this week. It is giving out free flowers at 550 of its stores across the country on Saturday, March 14.

Each of these stores will have 80 bunches of free daffodils available for customers to nab. One will be given out per customer, and the offer only lasts while stocks last.

A spokeswoman for Asda said: "Mums do so much and often forget about themselves. This Mother's Day, we want to make sure they feel special.

"Even if they say, 'don't worry about me,' we absolutely are. Just pop into your local store, say 'mum's the word,' and take home a fresh bunch on us."

To get the free flowers, customers have to locate the community champion in their local Asda store and say "Mum's the word".

No purchases are needed to take advantage of the free flowers. Asda has launched its range of Mother's Day gifts and treats for customers to choose from when buying for their mums this year.

The range includes boxes of chocolates, diffusers, candles, frames, garden decorations and bath sets. Additionally, Asda has slashed the price of its exclusive award-winning Louvel Fontaine Champagne Brut 75cl to just £10.00, down from £22.00, in time for Mother's Day.

It is also selling its Mother's Day special fresh flower range, which includes the Mums Delight Bouquet for £5.00, the Exceptional Indulgence Bouquet for £15.00 and the Pink Bouquet for £10.00.
