Ram Rasoi LPG shortage : Amidst the alleged shortage of gas cylinders across the country, Samajwadi Party MP Awadhesh Prasad has made a big claim about the ‘Ram Rasoi’ of Ayodhya. Speaking on the issue of alleged ‘shortage of Prasad’ in the Ram temple, Awadhesh Prasad said that due to rising gas prices and shortage of cylinders, the ‘Ram Rasoi’ in Ayodhya has been closed.

Awadhesh Prasad, MP from Faizabad Lok Sabha seat, told PTI, “Ayodhya is the city of Lord Ram. Devotees and visitors who come here for darshan and stay here are distributed food as prasad. This tradition is known as ‘Ram Rasoi’, where food is served to hundreds of people in different temples; this tradition has been going on in Ayodhya for a long time. However, due to rising prices of cooking gas and shortage of cylinders, ‘Due to this, ‘Ram Rasoi’ in Ayodhya has now been closed.’

The Samajwadi Party MP further said, ‘Even in Hanumangarhi—where devotees from across the country and abroad come for darshan—we are facing difficulties in distributing Prasad due to shortage of gas and rising costs. People are standing in long queues, but still they are not able to get the Prasad. At present, the central government is completely rejecting the news of LPG shortage in the country.

Earlier, on March 11, Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav had raised the issue of alleged LPG shortage in Ram Rasoi. While sharing a clip of a news channel, he had written on X- ‘Now tell me…? Due to the wrong policies of BJP, the traditional tradition of Ram-Rasoi and Prasad is also breaking in Ayodhya. No one had ever thought that BJP’s anti-Sanatan thinking would reach this far. If BJP goes then Sadavrata should come!
