Udupi: The SSLC examinations in Udupi district will be held from March 8 to April 2 at 51 centres, and officials have been instructed to ensure that students can write the exams in a smooth and fear-free environment.


Deputy Commissioner Swaroopa T K issued the directions while chairing a preparatory meeting on Thursday at the district collectorate.


She said all necessary arrangements must be made to avoid any lapses during the examination process. Officials were asked to work in coordination to ensure that the district achieves a 100 per cent result.


Authorities have appointed chief superintendents, supervisors, local vigilance squads, mobile seizure officers, district and taluk-level inspection teams, and examination nodal officers to monitor the conduct of the exams.


Students are not allowed to bring mobile phones or smart watches to the examination centres. A designated team has inspected the centres and confirmed the availability of essential facilities, including drinking water.


The Deputy Commissioner also instructed officials of the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) to ensure adequate bus services for students travelling from rural areas. Buses should be arranged so that students reach their centres on time, and buses should be allowed to stop near the examination centres.


Officials from the power supply department were directed to ensure uninterrupted electricity during the examination period. The health department has been asked to deploy medical staff at examination centres and make arrangements for drinking water and refreshments.


Mangaluru CTE Principal and Assistant Director Pushpalatha presented details about the examination arrangements during the meeting.


Sub-Divisional Commissioner Rashmi, DDPI Lokesh C, District Health Officer Basavaraj Hubballi, DIET Principal Dr Ashok Kamath, and heads of examination centres were present.
