All eyes are on Shanghai for this weekend's Chinese Grand Prix after a thrilling start to the season in Melbourne last time around. Mercedes have established themselves as the team to beat, with George Russell cruising to victory in the opening race of the 2026 campaign. He will also be on pole for this weekend's sprint after heading a Silver Arrows one-two in qualifying.

Ferrari have also made a promising start to the season, with Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc showing they can be competitive at the front. The former was involved in a hairy moment in FP1 in the early hours of Friday morning, colliding with Lando Norris before spinning off the track. He recovered well in sprint qualifying, coming home in third position.
