Mumbai: Filmmaker Farah Khan talked about her experience working with Akshaye Khanna. She revealed that she avoided working with him for a particular reason. Farah talked about it while appearing on a podcast with Ranveer Allahbadia.

During her interview, Farah revealed that Akshaye was going through hair loss in the 1990s. As a result, he was quite irritable on set. “In the ’90s, I did a couple of movies with Akshaye, and after that, I was traumatised. Because he used to be a different person. Yes, introverted, but not a nice person on set,” said the filmmaker.

As she found it difficult to work with him, Farah avoided such circumstances as much as possible. “Whenever I heard that Akshaye Khanna was in a film, I used to say, ‘I don’t have the dates’. I think at that time he himself had said that he was losing hair. He was constantly irritable. He used to throw things and say, ‘What kind of dialogue is this?’ He used to be that kind of person,” said the filmmaker.

Fortunately, when she worked with him on the 2001 hit, Dil Chahta Hai, Akshaye was a new person. She observed that he had become more comfortable with his hair, which had contributed to him being more relaxed on set.

She said that previously, he would cover his head with a cap if the scene involved water or rain. Further, she also described him as an excellent dancer. Quoting his performance in Koi Kahe Kehta Rahe, Farah said that he was a better dancer than Aamir Khan and Saif Ali Khan.

Farah also said that she apprecaited Akshaye for his performance in Dhurandhar and even paid him a visit at his home in Alibaug.

“What I like about him is that he is not about the fluff, he is about the work. He enjoys acting,” said the filmmaker.
