Manchester City were held to a 1-1 draw by resurgent West Ham in a game with huge ramifications at both ends of the Premier League table. Konstantinos Mavropanos headed home the equaliser for Nuno Espirito Santo's team in the first half, shortly after Bernardo Silva had given City the lead with a stylish chip.

Not only did Mavropanos' header give West Ham a vital point to move them out of the relegation zone, it did his former club, Arsenal, a massive favour in the title race. Arsenal, who dramatically beat Everton 2-0 earlier on Saturday, are now nine points clear of City after Pep Guardiola's side slipped up for the second league game running.

While Arsenal will be celebrating West Ham's result, Nottingham Forest certainly won't be. Nuno's old employers dropped into the bottom three as a result of the draw at the London Stadium.

As for the title race, Guardiola insists that 'it's not over', despite suggesting as much in his pre-match press conference. "It's not over because we didn't lose," the City boss told TNT Sports. "We will continue. We have an incredible team spirit."

Rodri echoed his manager's thoughts, saying: "Maybe [the title race is over] yes, maybe no. We're not going to drop hands, we're going to keep fighting.

"We know it's going to be difficult because we have this experience of what you need to win at the end. I think the distance is too far but we're going to fight until the end.

"Now is a moment of no regrets. Today we showed a little bit of what the season was, ups and downs, then maybe the last pass or the last strike can make the difference. Football is about goals and we couldn't find the players to have numbers in terms of goals.

"That's the most important thing in football because we created the chances, we controlled the games but this is what makes the difference."

As for West Ham's taken on things, Nuno told Match of the Day: You can say [the defending was heroic], a lot of sacrifice, a lot of bodies on the line. It has to be this way.

"We defended very well, the midfield worked very hard and the front players also tried to cut lines to delay the game. Overall defensively - especially first half - we were really, really compact and didn't allow too many chances to City."
