New Delhi: India’s wholesale inflation rose for the fourth consecutive month, reaching 2.13 per cent in February, marking the highest level recorded in the last 11 months, according to government data.
The wholesale price index-based inflation stood at 1.81 per cent in January. In February last year, the inflation rate was 2.45 per cent.
The rise in wholesale inflation has been attributed to an increase in the prices of several commodities, including food items, non-food products, metals and textiles.
Food inflation also recorded an increase during the same period, reaching 2.19 per cent, the data showed.
