In the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav in Madhya Pradesh, it was decided to give a bonus of Rs 40 per quintal to farmers on wheat. Also, Rs 945 crore elevated corridor in Ujjain, Panwar micro irrigation project of Rewa and several road development schemes were approved.

In Madhya Pradesh, an important meeting of the Council of Ministers was organized in the Ministry on Tuesday under the chairmanship of CM Mohan Yadav. Many major decisions related to farmers, infrastructure and administrative reforms were taken in this meeting. The Cabinet has decided to give a bonus of Rs 40 per quintal on wheat purchased from farmers at support price during the Rabi marketing year 2026-27. The government believes that this will provide additional financial assistance to farmers.

As per the decision, the surplus quantity of the procured wheat which is not accepted by the Government of India will be disposed of by Madhya Pradesh State Civil Supplies Corporation through an open tender process. The state government will bear the expenses incurred in this process.

The bonus amount received by the farmers will be paid through the departmental budget provision, while the expenses related to disposal of surplus wheat will be reimbursed from the budget of the Chief Minister Krishak Fasal Uparjan Sahayata Yojana.

Approval of Rs 4,525 crore for development works of Public Works Department

In the cabinet meeting, approval of Rs 4 thousand 525 crore was given for the development works and maintenance related to roads, buildings and other infrastructure in the state under the Public Works Department (PWD). With this amount, road construction, bridge construction, maintenance of buildings and other infrastructure projects will be carried forward in different parts of the state.

Elevated corridor will be built in Ujjain at a cost of Rs 945 crore.

The Cabinet has approved an important project to ease traffic in Ujjain city. Under this, a 4-lane elevated corridor will be constructed from Chimanganj Mandi (Indra Nagar) intersection to Indore Gate and a 2-lane elevated corridor from Exit intersection to Indore Gate. The total length of this project will be 5.32 kilometers and administrative approval of Rs 945 crore 20 lakh has been given for its construction.

Road development program and other schemes also approved

The Cabinet has also given several important approvals to continue the road development schemes of the state.

  • Rs 7 crore 38 lakh were approved to continue the Madhya Pradesh Road Development Program from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2028.
  • Permission was given to continue the grant scheme for development under public participation till 31 March 2031.
  • Approval of Rs 50 crore 10 lakh was given for the continuation of the NDB funded bridge and road construction scheme.
  • Rs 1,543 crore sanctioned for continuation of Madhya Pradesh Road Development Program-6 from April 1, 2026 to March 31, 2031.
  • Approval of Rs 1,476 crore was given for Madhya Pradesh Road Development Program-7 during the same period.

Budget approved for maintenance of government buildings and rest houses

The Cabinet has also approved the budget for the maintenance of government residences, rest houses and office buildings.

  • Rs 200 crore 35 lakh were sanctioned for the maintenance of government residences and rest houses.
  • Rs 300 crore 70 lakh were sanctioned for the maintenance of office buildings, maintenance of Satpura and Vindhyachal Bhawan and operation and maintenance of Shaurya Smarak.

Rewa's Panwar micro irrigation project approved

The Cabinet has also approved Panwar Micro Irrigation Project in Rewa district. The total cost of this project will be Rs 228 crore 42 lakh and through this, irrigation facility will be provided in 7,350 hectare area. With this, farmers of 37 villages of Jawa and Tyonthar tehsil will get the benefit of irrigation, which is expected to increase agricultural production.

Amendment in Madhya Pradesh Work (Allocation) Rules

The Cabinet has also approved amendment to the Madhya Pradesh Work (Allocation) Rules. Under this amendment, it has been decided to remove Madhya Pradesh Store Purchase and Service Procurement Rules from the MSME Department and bring it under the Finance Department. According to the government, this change will not impose any additional financial burden on the state government.

Name of Animal Husbandry Department changed to Cow Husbandry and Animal Husbandry Department.

Making administrative changes, the Cabinet has approved changing the name of Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Department to Cow Husbandry and Animal Husbandry Department. Along with this, the name of Directorate of Animal Husbandry and Dairy will also be changed to Directorate of Cow Husbandry and Animal Husbandry. The government says that with this, cow breeding and animal husbandry activities will be given more priority.
