Sara Ali Khan Kedarnath controversy: Actor Sara Ali Khan may soon need to complete additional formalities before visiting the sacred Kedarnath and Badrinath temples. A new directive issued by the Badri-Kedar Temple Committee has introduced an affidavit requirement for non-Hindu devotees seeking darshan at the revered shrines.

Speaking to the media, committee chairman Hemant Dwivedi confirmed the decision, stating, “All non-Hindus will be required to submit an affidavit if they wish to seek blessings at the temples.” He added that visitors must provide documented proof affirming their belief in Hinduism, noting that the rule will apply uniformly.

Sara Ali Khan asked to file affidavit for Kedarnath, Badrinath visit

Addressing Sara’s frequent visits to Kedarnath, Hemant clarified that she would be allowed to continue her prayers if she complies with the new guideline. “If Sara Ali Khan expresses her devotion towards Sanatan Dharma and submits an affidavit, we will allow her to offer prayers,” he said.

Sara has been closely associated with Kedarnath ever since her debut film Kedarnath was shot in the region. Over the years, she has often shared moments from her spiritual visits, offering a glimpse into her personal connection with the Himalayan shrine. Her low-key temple trips, without official privileges, have frequently drawn public attention.

The temple committee has maintained that the decision is intended to uphold the spiritual ethos of both Kedarnath and Badrinath.

On the work front, Sara was last seen in Metro… In Dino. She is set to star in Pati Patni Aur Woh Do with Ayushmann Khurrana. Directed by Mudassar Aziz, the film also stars Wamiqa Gabbi and Rakul Preet Singh.
