New Delhi, March 18. A horrific accident took place in the national capital on Wednesday morning, when a massive fire broke out in a four-storey house located in Palam area of ​​South West Delhi. At least nine people have died in the accident.

According to the information received, a fire broke out in the cosmetic shop located on the ground floor of the house in the morning. The fire quickly spread to the upper floors. A total of 18 people were present inside the house at the time of the accident, some of whom saved their lives by jumping from the top. But there was only one way out, so many people were trapped inside due to the fire. After the information, several fire brigade vehicles reached the spot and the rescue operation was conducted.

The fire department said that a call was received at 7 in the morning about a fire in a house in a building in street number two near Palam metro station, in which some people were feared trapped. 30 fire tenders were sent to the spot and fire extinguishing and rescue work was started.

CM Rekha Gupta ordered magistrate inquiry

Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has also taken cognizance of the accident. He has ordered a magistrate inquiry. PM Modi expressed grief, announced compensation

PM Narendra Modi has also expressed grief over the Palam accident and announced compensation. PM Modi said – ‘The incident of fire in Palam, Delhi is sad. I express my condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. May the injured get well as soon as possible. The families of each deceased will be given an ex-gratia amount of Rs 2 lakh from the PMNRF fund. At the same time, Rs 50,000 will be given to the injured.
