Desk. Famous Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav is facing legal difficulties these days. An important hearing was held in the Delhi High Court in an old case to check bounce, in which the court has given a big relief to Rajpal Yadav by deciding not to send him to jail for the time being. The actor himself was present in the court during the hearing and while presenting his side, he said that he had already paid a huge amount.
At the beginning of the hearing, Rajpal Yadav’s lawyer informed the court that he has filed a petition for regular bail. Also, the court was told that the actor’s interim bail period was ending today. Giving information regarding the payment, the lawyer said that till now Rs 4.25 crore has been paid to ‘Murali Projects Private Limited’ and a demand draft of Rs 25 lakh is being deposited today. Expressing satisfaction over this, the court said that since the actor has paid sufficient amount, he is not being sent to jail again.
Rajpal Yadav, present in the court room, presented his side emotionally. He told that when the decree was made in 2016, he was directed to pay Rs 10.40 crore. The actor claimed that he tried his best to make the payments and had also produced papers of a friend’s property worth Rs 28 crore in 2018. Rajpal Yadav gave an argument saying that he had already paid Rs 2 crore, but in case of not being able to pay the remaining Rs 8 crore, the other party had demanded to send him to jail. The actor argued, ‘I have served the jail sentence instead of that Rs 8 crore, so technically that money should be gone now because I have completed the sentence.’ He also added that the investment in the film was not Rs 5 crore but Rs 22 crore, due to which his Rs 17 crore was wasted.
During the hearing, the judge advised Rajpal Yadav to be careful and said that he should not say anything that would go against him in future. The court made it clear that if he returns the money then this case will end, otherwise he will have to be ready for arguments. The court has now fixed the next hearing of this case for March 30.
