Flight Ticket Booking Rules: The Central Government has taken a big decision regarding air travel. It is often seen that airlines charge huge amounts from passengers in the name of web check-in or seat selection fees. Now, the Ministry of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has issued new guidelines to ban these additional charges. According to the new DGCA guidelines, now at least 60 percent of the seats in any flight should be available for passengers to choose from without any extra charges.
No payment required for 60% seats
The ministry, through DGCA, has given strict instructions to all airlines to allow passengers to choose at least 60 percent of the seats in any flight without any extra cost. Its objective is to make air travel more affordable and transparent for the common man, so that passengers can be relieved of the financial burden associated with seat selection.
It often happens that family members booked under the same PNR (Passenger Name Record) are given different seats. This problem has been resolved in the new guidelines. Now, passengers traveling under the same PNR will be given priority in seating together or in adjacent seats.
New rules for sporting goods and musical instruments
Keeping in mind the convenience of passengers, the rules have been made even simpler. For sportspersons and musicians, the process of carrying their belongings like cricket kit or guitar will be made easier and transparent. Now airlines will have to make clear and transparent policies regarding transportation of pets, so that passengers do not have any confusion.
