If you're planning a European break for your family, then Eurocampis no doubt on your radar.

Its parks have welcomed families for decades and offer a winning combination of family-friendly accommodation such as lodges, big outdoor pools and splash parks, and lots of activities and entertainmentincluded.

One small problem with Eurocamp? There are over 400 of them, so narrowing down your search can be quite tricky, especially if you don't have a destination in mind. Recently, the Eurocamp team named its 'Best in Class' destinations for 2026, and one park not far from the UK was named as the 'Ultimate All-Rounder'.

Domaine des Ormes in Brittany, Franceis close to the traditional Breton town of Dol-de-Bretagne and hidden among miles of countryside. Jono, a contracting manager at Eurocamp, explained why it was awarded the title. He said: "For high-octane action, this parc is unbeatable. With world-class slides and fantastic beaches nearby, it’s the ultimate ‘Best Action’ winner for families who can’t sit still."

The park has five pools, both indoor and outside, waterslides, and a splash playground for those sunny days. On-site, you'll find an 18-hole golf course and a horse riding school where kids can go for a trek and adults can improve their skills. There are kids' clubs for different ages, and activities from football to boules, aqua aerobics, tennis, and cycle hire.

Families can choose from a range of accommodation options. Safari Lodge Tents are a fun choice for a glamping experience, and you can still enjoy separate bedroom areas and bathrooms with showers. There are also Classic, Ultimate, and Premium holiday homes that have features such as dishwashers, decking areas, and BBQs. A week in May half-term in a Premium three-bedroom lodge that sleeps up to six costs £1,339.52 and can be booked on the Eurocamp website.

Around a 20-minute drive away is Plage de Cherrueix, a long stretch of beach that offers soft sands and clear blue waters for swimming at high tide. Nearby, you'll also find the incredible island of Mont Saint-Michel, France's most visited tourist attraction outside of Paris. It can get busy, so plan to arrive early in the morning or late afternoon when there are fewer day trippers around.

The visit involves a long walk across the causeway and up to the abbey, often taking an hour in total, so make sure you have comfortable walking shoes and plenty of time to explore the winding streets along the way. It's full of cute souvenir stores, traditional crêperies, and French restaurants, so you'll want to take your time getting around.

There are a couple of options to get to Domaine des Ormes. The quickest is to fly to Rennes Airport, and easyJethas routes from London-Gatwick and Manchester starting at just an hour and 15-minutes flight time. You can then hire a car and drive to the park in under an hour.

However, most Brits visiting the area tend to take their own car, and the park is just a 45-minute drive from St Malo if you choose this option. You can either take the Poole or Portsmouth to St Malo ferries, which can be booked via Brittany Ferries. The outbound leg of your journey can be done overnight, so you fall asleep in your cabin and wake up on holiday, making it a pleasant start to your break.
