In the launch program of the book '9 years of Nav Nirman' in Lucknow, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath mentioned the development works done in Uttar Pradesh during the last nine years. In his address, he said that the state is now progressing rapidly in areas like infrastructure, investment, agriculture and education. According to the Chief Minister, before 2017, the state which was considered backward in terms of investment and development, is now seeing many big changes like big industries, expressways, airports and education reforms.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that Uttar Pradesh has today emerged as a strong state in terms of infrastructure in the country. He said that the country's largest rail network is in Uttar Pradesh and metro service is running in seven cities, Lucknow, Kanpur, Agra, Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad and Meerut. Apart from this, the country's first rapid rail service has started between Meerut and Delhi. The country's first ropeway is also being built in Varanasi. The country's first inland waterway from Varanasi to Haldia has also been developed in Uttar Pradesh.
Referring to air connectivity, CM Yogi said that currently 16 airports are operating in Uttar Pradesh, which includes four international airports. He told that the country's largest airport has been ready in Jewar, Noida. A request has been made to the Prime Minister for its inauguration on March 28. According to the Chief Minister, the opening of Jewar Airport will be of great benefit to the state's economy and the state government is likely to earn an income of up to Rs 1 lakh crore.
The Chief Minister said that the construction work of Ganga Expressway has almost been completed and a target has been set to complete it this month. He said that about 55 percent of the total expressways present in the country are in Uttar Pradesh and after the completion of Ganga Expressway, this figure can reach about 60 percent. According to the government, work has also been done on connecting district headquarters in the state with four-lane roads and providing better road connectivity to block-tehsil headquarters.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that recently the state government delegation had visited Japan and Singapore. The Deputy Chief Minister and IT Minister had gone to Germany. He says that industrialists and ministers of these countries are showing interest in investing in Uttar Pradesh. The reason behind this has been said to be the state's “zero tolerance and zero corruption” policy. The Chief Minister said that till now ground breaking of investment worth Rs 15 lakh crore has been done in the state and new investment proposals worth Rs 6 lakh crore are in the process.
In his address, the Chief Minister also mentioned an old political superstition. He said that earlier it was believed that the Chief Minister who goes to Noida, loses his chair. He said that when he got the responsibility, he decided to end this thinking and went to Noida and carried out development projects. According to the Chief Minister, today Noida and Greater Noida have become major manufacturing centers of mobile and electronic devices in the country.
In the program, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also talked about issues related to farmers. He said that the government has given priority to farmers since the beginning. According to the Chief Minister, the agricultural growth rate of the state has increased from 8.5 percent to about 18 percent, which is considered to be the fastest in the country.
The Chief Minister said that between 2012 and 2017, about Rs 95 thousand crores were paid to sugarcane farmers. Whereas in the last nine years after 2017, more than Rs 3.16 lakh crore has been paid to farmers. He said that earlier farmers used to get the price of sugarcane around Rs 300 per quintal, which has now increased to Rs 400 per quintal.
According to the Chief Minister, many steps have been taken to provide relief to the farmers. Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, approximately Rs 99 thousand crores have been sent to the accounts of farmers of Uttar Pradesh. Apart from this, paddy, wheat, mustard, pulses and other crops are being purchased in the state at minimum support price. The government says that to provide additional irrigation facilities to the farmers, the system has been extended to more than 56 lakh hectares of area.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also mentioned the changes in the education sector. He said that now even a child from a poor family in the state can study in a school with better facilities. According to the government, basic facilities have been improved in more than 1.36 lakh schools under Operation Kayakalp.
The Chief Minister said that more than 1 crore 60 lakh children in the state are being given uniforms, bags, books, shoes and sweaters. He said that earlier government schools did not have many basic facilities, but now arrangements like separate toilets and drinking water have been ensured in schools.
The Chief Minister said that scholarships are being given to encourage students studying Sanskrit. Along with this, there are preparations to bring a new scheme to make arrangements for accommodation and food for such students. The government believes that promoting Sanskrit education will strengthen cultural and educational development.
According to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, in the last nine years there have been major changes in many sectors like infrastructure, investment, agriculture and education in the state. However, the impact and actual results of these claims will be fully revealed only in the future. At present the government says that Uttar Pradesh has entered a new phase of development.
