Delhi High Court has directed Delhi Police to make concrete arrangements in Uttam Nagar area due to fear of violence on Eid. Delhi High Court has issued a notice to the police and also sought their reply. Besides, instructions have also been given to maintain police arrangements till the festival of Ram Navami. Delhi High Court will hear the case next on April 6.
Let us tell you that on the day of Holi, a person named Tarun was murdered in a dispute over coloring in Uttam Nagar area. After Tarun’s murder, tension increased in the area and some organizations claimed to be “playing holi of blood on Eid”. In view of the possibility of violence, a petition was filed in the Delhi High Court, hearing which the court has given these instructions to the Delhi Police.
The atmosphere should not deteriorate on Eid – Delhi HC
Delhi High Court has asked Delhi Police to ensure that the atmosphere in Uttam Nagar does not deteriorate on the occasion of Eid. The court said that the police should take all precautionary measures including strengthening the security arrangements so that the festival of Eid can be celebrated peacefully. The court said that police security arrangements in the area should be continued till after Ram Navami. The court expressed hope that all sections of the society should maintain patience among themselves so that peace and harmony can be maintained.

Regarding the Tarun murder case, Rahul Gandhi said on Thursday that the people of Uttam Nagar have paid a heavy price for the violence. On one hand a young boy, Tarun, has lost his life, on the other hand an entire family is facing harassment. They don’t want any more bloodshed. Delhiites are requested not to get misled. The strength of the country lies in our unity, brotherhood and love.
