Regarding IPL 2026, the Board of Control for Cricket in India is planning that every selector will go to the stadium to watch the matches being held live in their respective areas, while the other matches will be monitored through TV and data analytics. The board is trying to prepare detailed feedback of at least 5 matches every week. According to reports, the selection process for the 2027 ODI World Cup will not be limited to statistics alone, but players’ performance, fitness and their decisions in match situations will also be taken into consideration.

These players will be in focus

In IPL 2026, the selectors will keep a special eye on fast bowlers Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Arshdeep Singh, and Prasidh Krishna along with star all-rounder Hardik Pandya, because all these players are part of the core group of the ODI team.
