In this context, it is crucial for students to understand exactly how many marks they need to secure in order to pass. The assessment for this examination is not based solely on the written test; rather, a student's performance throughout the entire academic year is also taken into account.
Each subject carries a total weightage of 100 marks, comprising 80 marks for the written examination and 20 marks for practical assessments.
The practical component encompasses various activities, including class tests, projects, assignments, and hands-on practical work. Consequently, a student's consistent effort and hard work throughout the year at school play a significant role in determining the final result.
According to the Rajasthan Board's regulations, it is mandatory for every student to secure a minimum of 33 percent marks in each individual subject. To pass the examination—which carries a total weightage of 600 marks—one must obtain a minimum aggregate score of 198 marks.
When viewed on a subject-wise basis, a student must secure at least 26 marks out of 80 in the theory paper and a minimum of 7 marks out of 20 in the practical assessment. Thus, securing a total of 33 marks in each subject is the prerequisite for passing the examination.
If a student fails to secure the minimum required marks in one or two subjects, there is no need for them to be disheartened. The Board offers such students an opportunity to appear for a supplementary or compartment examination, allowing them to retake the test and save their academic year.
