BCCI On India Test Squad: After IPL 2026, the Indian cricket team has to play a home series against Afghanistan. This series will include one test and three ODI matches. The special thing is that the test match will be played in Mullanpur between 6th to 10th June. According to reports, this match will not be taken lightly and the team will enter the field with full strength.
The selection committee does not want to do any kind of experiment for this test. Even though this match is not part of the World Test Championship, all the major players will still be included. Main fast bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj will also be a part of the team. A player will be rested only in case of injury.
The selectors have their eyes on three major fast bowlers, which include Bumrah, Siraj and Prasidh Krishna. The team management believes that getting a place in the Test team is not an experiment but is decided on the basis of performance. For this, platforms like India A are used.
The Indian team has to play a total of 9 test matches till the next World Test Championship final. After Afghanistan, the team will play two tests on Sri Lanka tour, then there will also be two tests against New Zealand. After this, a big five-Test series will be played against Australia at home in the beginning of 2027. This entire schedule is considered important for the team.
