TASKMASTER Series 21 has become one of the UK’s most anticipated comedies, with lots of laughs from the various, funny activities and the iconic banter between Greg Davies (the giant Taskmaster) and little Alex Horne (his ever-helpful assistant). The new series will be bursting with weird and wacky challenges, creativity, celebrity embarrassment, and success. Taskmaster Series 21 is the upcoming season of the popular Channel 4 comedy panel show hosted by Greg Davies (the Taskmaster) and assisted by Little Alex Horne. The series has generated significant excitement due to its star-studded lineup, which was officially announced in early January 2026.


Taskmaster Series 21: Release Date


As of March 2026, there is no exact date yet set for the Channel 4 premiere. Some sources, such as Taskmaster Wiki, have reliable information regarding potential air dates. The current assumption is that the next season will air sometime between April and May 2026 in the established Thursday 9 pm slot. The Thursday 9 pm slot is scheduled through April 16, 2026. The soonest possible start date for the new season would be around that date. Historically, previous seasons have generally been released between late March and early May, while Series 20 (for reference) was released earlier in the year.


Filming of the series has already been completed:
– Filming for location tasks was completed before filming studio segments.
– Filming for studio segments took place September 12-18, 2025.


The upcoming season has been confirmed to have 10 episodes that may include the show’s 200th anniversary as part of its overall program history.


Taskmaster Series 21: Cast News


Series 21 has five competitors:



  • Amy Gledhill – Winner of the Edinburgh Comedy Award in 2024, stand-up comic and writer.

  • Armando Iannucci – Acclaimed writer, director, and broadcaster (known for such works as “The Thick of It”, “In the Loop”, and “The Death of Stalin”). Academy Award nominee for screenwriting.

  • Joanna Page – Actress and presenter, best known for her role as Stacey in “Gavin & Stacey”.

  • Joel Dommett – Comedian and presenter (currently the host of “The Masked Singer” on ITV).

  • Kumail Nanjiani – Actor, comedian, and writer (starred in “The Big Sick”, “Silicon Valley”, and Marvel’s “Eternals”). Also an Academy Award nominee for screenwriting.


This cast is noteworthy in that it has the first-ever duo of Academy Award Nominees (Iannucci & Nanjiani) and that fans have described this as one of the best-stacked lineups in recent history.

Shortly after the Taskmaster: New Year’s Treat special aired, the announcement was made.


Interviews with Alex Horne have hinted at possible future format adjustments or “interesting” show ideas; however, none have been proposed specifically for Series 21.
