During Kolkata Knight Riders' intra-squad match on Friday at Eden Gardens, something special occurred that got the fans excited. Unsold Indian pace bowler, Navdeep Saini, captured attention after delivering a beautiful ball to dismiss New Zealand batter Finn Allen.
Allen, who was signed by KKR for Rs 2 crore, started his innings by batting offensively against the 200 run target. He quickly hit 23 runs from 10 balls and seemed in good form, but then Saini took his wicket.
Saini Stuns Allen with Perfect Delivery
At one point during Finn Allen's pursuit of the target, he looked to be going for an aggressive shot by shuffling towards the offside to play a paddle scoop. Saini bowling with good pace and his ball did not get connected by the batter well.
The ball deflect off the bat and then hit the stumps, and his middle stump flew several yards back. It was a very quick and clear dismissal which revealed his pace and accurate control.

Saini, who was unsold at the IPL 2026 auction, is currently part of the setup for KKR as a net bowler, and his performance during this practice game will undoubtedly boost his confidence for the season. Allen, on the other hand, has been very strong with his performance lately.
He smashed 298 runs in 8 innings at the T20 World Cup with a total average of 49.66 and a strike rate of 200. His century, 100*(33) against South Africa in the semifinal was the fastest century recorded in the T20 World Cup history.

Raghuvanshi Shines as Purple Knights Win
The match provided some good performances from both sides. The Golden Knights, who were captained by Rinku Singh, set a target of 199/8 from 20 overs. Tim Seifert and Sarthak Ranjan registered 45 and 37 runs respectively, while Rinku also played an important cameo of 40 runs from 25 balls. The Purple Knights did win the match with 4 balls to spare and 6 wickets remaining. The target of 200 runs was easily chased down by young Angkrish Raghuvanshi who scored 103* from 55 balls.
KKR will now prepare for their IPL 2026 matches. Their first encounter will be against the Mumbai Indians on March 29 at the Wankhede stadium, followed by 3 home matches against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants at Eden Gardens. They will look to continue this excellent practice match form and have a good IPL campaign this year.
