New Delhi: Taiwan has expressed great confidence in the digital revolution in India. Estella Chen, Executive Director of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre, said Taiwan is fully committed to becoming a strong and reliable partner in India’s digital transformation.

In her address during the Convergence India Expo 2026, Estella Chen said Taiwan’s expertise spans from smartphone manufacturing to advanced high-tech product design and can play an important role in strengthening India’s initiatives like ‘Digital India’ and ‘India AI Mission’.

He said, “Taiwan is a trusted partner in India’s key initiatives. From smartphones, IoT manufacturing to high-tech design, we are committed to driving India’s digital transformation. The partnership with Taiwan is not just limited to supplies, but is a strategic and trusted collaboration.”

Record increase in India-Taiwan trade

Estella Chen said that last year the bilateral trade between India and Taiwan reached a record level of $12.5 billion. Due to this growing economic relationship, investment and trade cooperation between the two countries is increasing rapidly.

Taiwanese companies are investing in India’s electronics manufacturing, semiconductor and automobile sectors. At the same time, Indian companies are looking for new opportunities in Taiwan’s IT and engineering sector.

He said that the demand for hardware is increasing rapidly in India to strengthen digital infrastructure, smart manufacturing and supply chain, in which Taiwan can make an important contribution.

Taiwan’s strong hold in AI and semiconductor

Chen said Taiwan plays a leading role in the semiconductor and artificial intelligence sectors globally. Taiwan’s experience in innovation and technology can prove to be very useful for India.

17 tech companies showed new technology

17 major Taiwanese tech companies participated in this expo under ‘Taiwan Excellence’. These included companies like AAEON, Aetina, ADLINK, APLEX, ASUSTOR, Innodisk, Phison, Transcend, Zyxel.

These companies showcased their new technologies in areas like Edge AI, Industrial Computing, AI Infrastructure, High-Speed ​​Storage, Future Connectivity and Smart Mobility.

Taiwan has clearly indicated through this platform that it wants to establish new dimensions of technology, innovation and digital development with India.
