digital desk- Once again the phase of rhetoric has intensified in the politics of Maharashtra. Samajwadi Party state president and MLA Abu Azmi has given such a statement in Vidhan Bhawan, which has created a stir in political circles. According to him, questions have been raised on the safety of Muslims in the state and the situation is becoming worrying. Speaking at Vidhan Bhavan, Abu Azmi said that in the current environment it has become difficult for Muslims to even come out on the streets. He said, “It cannot be said who will kill someone who comes out wearing a beard, kurta and cap.” After his statement, a round of allegations and counter-allegations has started between the ruling party and the opposition.

Mentioned recent events

Azmi also mentioned some recent incidents in his statement. He claimed that people celebrating Iftar were attacked with sharp weapons in Pune, a 17-year-old youth was killed in Akola and a suspicious motorcycle blast took place in Nanded on Eid day. According to him, these incidents point towards increasing hatred and intolerance in the state. He said that “tolerance is ending and the law and order situation has become very bad.” Taking aim at the state government, the SP MLA said that politics of hatred is being done for power, due to which the society is suffering the consequences.

Demand from CM Devendra Fadnavis

He demanded from Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis that strict steps should be taken against hate crimes and strict action should be taken against the culprits. Along with this, Abu Azmi also made controversial comments regarding the recently released film Dhurandhar 2. He said that there have been many big riots and incidents in the country on which a film could have been made, but ‘Dhurandhar 2’ has been made as part of a conspiracy to defame Muslims. His statement has given rise to a new controversy between film and politics.
