Celebrated Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has been honoured at a prestigious ceremony held at the UK Parliament in London. The recognition highlights his global impact and contribution to music.

His son, Shah Zaman Khan, was also awarded at the same event. The ceremony was attended by prominent British lawmakers, including Tariq Ahmad, Mohammad Yasin, and Afzal Khan. Members of the South Asian community were also present in large numbers.

The event was organised to celebrate musical excellence and cultural diversity. It aimed to recognise artists who have helped bridge cultures through their work. The honour came shortly after Rahat and his son performed at the iconic Royal Albert Hall, where they impressed audiences with a mix of classical and contemporary South Asian music.

Speaking at the ceremony, Rahat called the moment a great honour. He said it was a proud achievement for him and his country. He credited his success to his family, hard work, and dedication to music. He also spoke about the power of music, saying it connects people beyond borders and differences.

Rahat revealed that he is currently working on a Bengali-language song. He said this project reflects his desire to reach wider audiences and explore new musical horizons.

Born into a family of legendary qawwals in Faisalabad, Rahat was trained from a young age. He learned the art of qawwali under the guidance of his uncle, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. He started performing at an early age and quickly became part of his uncle’s renowned qawwali group.

Over the years, Rahat has performed across the world. He has sung for films, released popular albums, and collaborated with international artists. His famous track Zaroori Tha gained massive global attention and broke viewership records online.
