After jetting off on holiday, many people want to spend some time relaxing with a simple glass of wine. And while the cost of wine may not be your biggest concern when booking a holiday, you could risk arriving at your destination just to be shocked at the prices.

To avoid this, Holiday Pirates have taken to Instagram to reveal the cheapest wine spots in Europe, where you can get a glass for well under £5. Topping their list were Hungary and Portugal, where an average glass will cost between £1.70 and £3.40. And depending on when you book, Skyscanner has flights to Portugal starting from £26 return, and to Hungary from £35.

So not only will you enjoy some wine, but you won't have to break the bank to get to your chosen destination.

And it's not just a glass of wine that can be cheaper abroad, with Drink Merchants previously revealing that in Portugal, the average price of a bottle is just £3.91.

Both Portugal and Hungary are home to their own wine regions, and with plenty of vineyards, you can enjoy the country's wines all for a low price while on holiday.

Other options for those looking for somewhere to buy a glass of wine for under £4 were Bulgaria and Spain, where you'll be forking out between £2 and £3.80.

Both destinations can also prove affordable in other ways, with Skyscanner offering return flights to Bulgaria from £32 and to Spain from just £24.
